A Woman Under the Influence

A tribute to Gena Rowlands (1930-2024).

Mabel Longhetti (Gena Rowlands in a powerhouse performance) is desperate and lonely, and beginning to become increasingly mentally unstable. Her extremely volatile behavior convinces her husband Nick (Peter Falk) that she poses a danger to their family, and he decides to commit her to an institution for six months. Alone with a trio of kids to raise on his own, he awaits her return, which holds more than a few surprises.
