Crash Course: Kaiju of the World

Join us for destruction on a global scale as we explore classic Kaiju films from four different countries! We’ll watch as humanity defends itself from the kaiju menace including oversized lizards, guardian monsters, giant gorillas, and the scariest of all - carnival owners! We’ll venture behind-the-scenes of each film, dig into the history of the genre, revel in the wackiness of each movie and have a great time along the way. Come ready to tear apart towns, learn how to build a kaiju, and marvel at the comedy of a grown adult wearing a lizard onesie!
MMU Crash Course classes offer a low-intensity way to explore a filmmaker or genre, in a friendly environment shared with fellow film lovers. Unlike our MMU seminars, Crash Courses offer a more casual approach. There’s no formal lecture or discussion, but films are curated and presented by staff experts.
