Dance Til’ You’re Dead: House Music Meets Horror in Gaspar Noë’s Climax

Cost: $22 ($18 members)
Eerie synths, discordant strings… French House music? Film scores play a crucial role in building suspense, heightening emotion, and creating tension in horror. Making high energy dance music and the joyful grooves of disco a uniquely bizarre sonic backdrop for the genre.
In this class we’ll explore Gaspar Noë’s visually stunning experimental dance-driven horror film CLIMAX (2018, 97 min) and what makes its focus on improvisation, movement, and of course French dance music so terrifyingly unique within the genre.
This class will be taught by Dylan Reiff, a writer/performer who co-founded Kickstand Comedy and has worked with the Sundance Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, the Stanley Film Festival, and Overlook Film Festival.
Class size will be limited to 18.
