Genealogy of Comedy: Modern TV Comedy + Narrative Structure
This one-night class is for comedy nerds excited to pop the hood and take a look at what makes the comedic engine of your favorite shows really tick!
Through a curated program of select shows and short lectures we’ll examine some fan-favorite and critically acclaimed small screen comedies from the last 20 years breaking down each episode and exploring the basics of comedy writing, narrative structure, and ultimately tracing some of the comedic DNA and influences that connect many of our favorite modern shows!
Select shows include Curb Your Enthusiasm, Broad City, and more from the Movie Madness Collection.
This class will be taught by Dylan Reiff, a writer/performer who co-founded Kickstand Comedy and has worked with the Sundance Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, the Stanley Film Festival, and Overlook Film Festival.
Enrollment is limited to 18 students.
