Rude Vibes: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
It took twenty-seven years of twists and turns for Hunter S. Thompson's era defining novel, FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS, to make its arduous journey from page to screen. But when it arrived in 1998, Terry Gilliam, Johnny Depp and their collaborators delivered the rarest of film adaptations - a movie which wholly and truly FEELS like the wild and glorious book it is based upon.
In this class, we'll examine FEAR AND LOATHING's fascinating path to the screen, as well as how the movie's performances, cinematography, and script choices work together to so effectively evoke Raoul Duke's drug-addled mental state. In addition, instructor Bryce Ingman will share his memories and thoughts about what it was like working on set as an extra during filming of the movie's memorable Bazooko Circus sequence.
This class will be taught by writer, actor and educator Bryce Ingman.
Enrollment is limited to 18 students.
