WHAT’S UP DOC? (1972, 94 min) follows the chaos of four identical bags getting mixed up in a San Francisco hotel. When chasing after these bags and the contents in them, there’s delightful mayhem as these stories intertwine and unravel in the passionate pursuit of desire.
Considered one of the greatest comedies of all time, director Peter Bogdanovich pays homage to screwball comedies of the 30s- capturing the charm, chemistry and wit of stars Barbra Streisand, Ryan O’Neal, and debut performance of Madeline Kahn.
In this class we will explore the incredible cast and crew, the inspirations behind the film, and experience the timeless comedy that was captured in this one of a kind movie.
This class will be taught by MMU Instructor Zoe Gillian, whose recent classes include Exploring Portland Through Film, Twisted Genius: David Fincher and Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?
