If I Should Die Before I Wake with Eddie Muller

If I Should Die Before I Wake with Eddie Muller

Cost:  $22 ($18 members)

Sunday, July 13th

Eddie Muller, host of Turner Classic Movies’ Noir Alley, celebrated writer, film historian, and founder/president of the non-profit Film Noir Foundation, returns to the Movie Madness Miniplex on July 13 at noon to present IF I SHOULD DIE BEFORE I WAKE (1952, Argentina, 73 min).

This slow-burning film noir with a nightmare-inducing climax was intended to be the third part of Argentine director Carlos Hugo Christensen’s NEVER OPEN THAT DOOR anthology, but it was screened separately and nearly lost to time soon after.

Eddie Muller will be in attendance to discuss the literary roots of the film, the cross-cultural legacy shared by the U.S. and Argentina during the post-WWII era, as well as the rescue, restoration, and rebirth of this stunning film noir.

Class size is limited to 18, but you can catch Eddie Muller hosting NOIR CITY: Portland at the Hollywood Theatre July 11-13.
