Edward Yang’s Epic: A Brighter Summer Day
Widely considered to be one of Edward Yang’s masterpieces, A BRIGHTER SUMMER DAY (1991, 237 min) is a stunning visual and narrative achievement.
In this class, we’ll explore Yang’s filmmaking style and touch on the impact of Taiwan’s political history.
Please note: due to the length of the film, class will end closer to 6pm.
This class will be taught by Jenny Lee whose previous classes have explored the films of Satyajit Ray, Yasujiro Ozu, Krzysztof Kieslowski, and more.
