Citizen Ruth
Cost: $22 ($18 members)
An Alexander Payne comedy, CITIZEN RUTH (1996, 106 min) follows Ruth (Laura Dern), a woman who’s slipped between society’s cracks, as she seeks her next can of paint to huff. When she finds out she’s pregnant, suddenly everyone wants a say in her choices. Featuring humorous appearances from character actors like Mary Kay Place, Kurtwood Smith, and Swoozie Kurtz, CITIZEN RUTH is a biting satire that’s become all the more relevant given the state of our media saturated society.
