Foxtrot
Cost: $22 ($18 members)
Michael and Daphna have just been informed that their son, an IDF soldier, has been killed at his post. What follows is an examination of grief for a family and the banality of life as a young soldier policing Palestine. FOXTROT (2017, 113) was controversial upon its release for its depiction of a massacre of innocent Palestinians, but went on to win the highest film award in Israel. In addition, this movie never received a physical release in the United States.
This class is a rare opportunity to experience and discuss a beautiful film that is especially poignant in the context of our current global situation.
This class will be taught by MMU Instructor Satchel Stinson, who recently taught a class on the film I DO NOT CARE IF WE GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS BARBARIANS.
The class will begin with a short lecture, followed by a screening of the film, after which an instructor-led discussion will take place.
Class size will be limited to 18.
