The Beaches of Agnés

The Beaches of Agnés

Cost:  $22 ($18 members)

Tuesday, October 7th

Agnès Varda was one of the most playful and imaginative filmmakers of her time, and THE BEACHES OF AGNÉS (2008, 112 min) film captures her style at its most personal.

In this class, we’ll explore how Varda blurred the line between documentary and narrative cinema, cementing her place as one of the most original voices in film history. We’ll also dive into her collaborations and her influence on generations of directors.

After the screening, join the discussion as we unpack Varda’s unique style, her relationship to memory and place, and the joy she found in making movies.

This class will be taught by MMU instructor Kia Anne Geraths, a filmmaker and educator. Some of her previous classes include Intro to Agnès Varda, Women Directors in Horror, and Arthouse Horror: Origins

Class size will be limited to 18.
